Luxury Pet Boarding in Lake Charles

In an ideal world, everywhere would welcome pets, and you’d be able to take your companions with you everywhere you go. Unfortunately, though, this isn’t the case. Instead, pet parents are often faced with the challenge of finding a safe and comfortable place for their furry family members to stay while they are out of town on vacation or for work. When it comes to boarding facilities in the Lake Charles area, there are a lot of options to choose from. Why choose just any boarding, though, when you can choose vet-supervised boarding in a luxurious facility that will make your pet feel like they are on their own vacation instead?

Here at Country Club Veterinary Clinic, one of the many services we offer is luxury pet boarding in Lake Charles. When your pet stays with us, they will enjoy indoor, climate-controlled accommodations and one-on-one attention from our loving team. Whether you have a dog, cat, or even an exotic pet, we’d love to have them as our guest!

Our Accommodations

We have cat condominiums for our feline friends as well as upscale dog boarding runs for our canine guests. Our cat condos are located in a separate area, so your cat will get to enjoy plenty of rest and relaxation far away from our doggy boarders. Every condo has its own living and litter box areas, and there are windows that allow your feline friend to keep a watchful eye on the outdoors.

Our private 4X6 boarding runs feature solid sides and doors to ensure that our guests never feel like they are locked up behind bars. With 26 of these runs available, we have plenty of room for your pet to come stay with us!

We also offer five luxury boarding suites that are uniquely themed and perfectly designed for the most pampered of pets. Your dog, cat, or virtually any other species will love spending time in our LSU Tigers Room, New Orleans Saints Room, McNeese State University Cowboys Room, Under the Sea room, or Welcome to the Jungle Room.

Requirements

We welcome dogs and cats and board exotic pets on a case-by-case basis. To take advantage of our pet boarding services in Lake Charles, your pet must be up-to-date on their vaccinations. The required vaccines for dogs include Rabies, Bordetella, DHLPP, and Influenza. We require feline guests to be up-to-date on their Rabies and FVRCP vaccines. Ferrets must be up-to-date on Rabies and Distemper vaccines. If your pet is due for a booster, let us know, and we’ll be glad to help!

You may have heard that cats are nocturnal, but that isn’t entirely true. They are actually crepuscular, meaning they are most active at dusk and dawn. That is when their typical prey – critters like mice – are out and about. While your cat may not need to hunt down much more than their food bowl, that extra burst of energy at night comes from their natural prey drive.

Giving Headbutts

Headbutting, known as “bunting” in the feline world, is a sign of love and affection. Because cats have scent glands in their faces, this behavior also marks the people and things they bunt as their own. Bunting is a sign of respect, love, and trust, and it’s one of the greatest honors you can get from your feline family member.

Purring in Odd Situations

It’s a common misconception that cats only purr when they are happy and content. Unfortunately, they may also do it when frightened or in pain. Purring is a self-soothing mechanism that cats employ in a wide range of situations. The patients here at Country Club  Veterinary Clinic often purr, even when we know they are not pleased to see a vet.

Cats are curious creatures, but most of their seemingly odd behaviors are completely normal. If you are ever concerned about your cat’s behaviors, though, we are here to help. Contact the Country Club Veterinary Clinic team, and we’ll gladly help you determine if your cat needs medical attention.
